An individual 10-digit code known as a
"Passenger Name Record" (PNR) is linked to each railway ticket that
is reserved in India. It includes crucial details regarding the traveller’s
itinerary, including the train number, the day and time of departure, the coach
and seat numbers, the passenger's name, and more information.
You can use the PNR number, which is written in the upper-left corner of the
ticket. To find out the current status of your reservation, including whether
it has been cancelled, postponed, or confirmed. You can use the internet or an
SMS to a number that the Indian Railways has supplied to check the status of
your PNR.
Your seat and coach number will be displayed in the PNR status once your ticket is confirmed. If your ticket is on a waiting, the PNR status will indicate where you are on the waitlist right now and how likely you are to acquire a confirmed seat based on the current reservation status.
