How to Cancel a Indian Railway Ticket
There are different methods for cancelling an Indian Railway ticket. Here are the different methods you can use:-
1. Online cancellation through IRCTC website or mobile app:- If you have booked your ticket through IRCTC website or mobile app, you can cancel your ticket online by logging in to your IRCTC account, clicking on "My Bookings," and selecting the ticket you want to cancel. Follow the instructions and confirm the cancellation. The refund amount will be credited to your account.
2. Cancellation at railway station counter:- If you have booked your ticket through railway station counter, you can cancel your ticket by visiting the nearest railway station counter. You need to carry the original copy of the ticket and a valid photo ID proof.
3. Cancellation through phone call:- You can also cancel your ticket by calling the IRCTC customer care number (139) or the railway enquiry number (139). Provide the details of your ticket and follow the instructions given by the customer care executive.
4. Cancellation through SMS:- You can also cancel your ticket by sending an SMS to the designated railway number. You need to send an SMS to 139 in the following format: "CAN<10-digit PNR number>." You will receive a confirmation message for the cancellation.
Note:- The cancellation charges and refund policy may vary depending on the type of ticket and the time of cancellation. It is recommended to check the cancellation policy before cancelling your ticket.
