1.First
AC (1A) :- This is a fully air
Conditioned Sleeper Coaches of the Indian Railways.
· It is most expensive mode of travel in India.
· It consists of 4 or 2 berths per compartment & there is no side upper or side lower berths in 1A coaches.
· Two (2) berths compartment is called Coupe & Four (4) berths compartments are called Cabin.
· Each compartment has a door, which passengers can lock from the inside.
· Actually the fares of First AC is equivalent to the fare of Flight ticket.
· Berths are more comfortable & spacious, has a small table for every passengers to have meals & also has a dustbins to throw garbage.
· Total Berths are 18-24 in First AC Coaches.
2.Executive
Class (EC):- This is the Non- Sleeper class of
Indian Railways.
· It is a Railway Business class mode of travelling like an Aircraft.
· It is a fully AC class with only Chair Car type seating arrangements available.
· The Chair Car seat arrangements of 2*2 in executive class to making it more comfortable & spacious.
· There is a small table attached to back of the front seat for every passengers to have meals, water bottles, mobile phones, etc.
· Currently Executive Class is present in Shatabdi Express, Tejas Express & also in Double Decker train so far.
· Actually the fare of Executive Class is approximately equal to First AC Class.
3.Executive
Anubhuti (EA):-
· Each Executive Anubhuti Coaches are Luxury Coaches similar like to Chair Car that feels like the experience of Aircraft.
· The concept of introducing this types of Coaches to provide Airship facilities to the passengers in the Train.
· It is a Fully AC Class train which has only Chair Car type of seat arrangements.
· In this Class of train doors are found fully automatic.
· There is no sleeper berth in this coaches.
· There is only 56 seats available in the Executive Anubhuti class of each coach & seating arrangements of 2*2 along with LCD Screen.
· The facilities & convenient point of view, It is Much more in Executive Anubhuti coaches than the AC Executive class (EC).
· The New Delhi – Chandigarh Shatabdi Express is the first Anubhuti coach followed by Jaipur - Shatabdi Coach.
4.AC
2 Tier (2A):-
· These are the Air conditioned class of Indian Railways for the Long distance travel in India.
· There is a six (6) berths in each Compartment i.e. 2 berth Upper, 2 berth Lower & 2 Side berth (One Lower & One Upper) on the other side of the corridor/Gallery.
· There is No Middle berth in this Class & also No doors for each Compartments.
· A pillow, 2 bed sheet, Blanket & Towel are provide for each berth.
· It is a very popular to upper class travelers & also choice for Foreign travelers who like a good level of privacy.
· It is very quieter than in 2 AC Coaches as compared to 3 AC and Sleeper class coaches.
· The total fare of 2 AC Tier is almost half of the First class AC.
· The total berth is 48-54 & also reading Lamp with curtains.
5.First
Class (FC):-
· First Class are the Non AC Coaches by the Indian Railways.
· This class has 2 berth Coupes & 2 berth Cabins with a door which is latched from inside just like an AC First class coaches.
· The main reason for passengers to travel in this class is just for safety point of view & peace of mind.
· These class has no attendant & are very clean also hygienic equipped with reading Lamp.
· Ticket fare are higher than the fares of 3 AC & Chair Car but Lower than fares of 2 AC & First Class AC.
6.AC
3-Tier(3A):-
· It is a most common & very famous for travelers who travel long journey with a low price.
· It gives a very pleasant journey at a lower cost than AC 2 Tier.
· Its price is approx 1/3 rd than First AC (1A).
· It has 8 berth in each compartments i.e. 2 upper, 2 middle, 2 lower & 2 side berth (side lower & side upper respectively).
· The middle berth folded during day time, so passengers allow to seat at lower berth.
· It has 64-72 seats & there is no curtain provide in each compartment.
7.AC
3 Economy (3E):-
· Right now It is very uncommon AC 3 Economy (3E) class available by the Indian Railways.
· It is very similar like AC 3-Tier(3A), but its basic difference is the total no. of berths in each compartments.
· In AC 3 Tier Class total no. of berth is 8 (2 upper,2 middle, 2 lower & 2 side berth) while in AC 3 Economy (3E) Class total no. berth is 9 (2 upper,2 middle,2 lower & 3 side berth).
· AC 3 Economy (3E) class found currently in some Garib Rath Express & some Duronto Express.
· Due to 1-Extra middle berth present in side berth , makes this class very crowded in just day time travel.
· This class is less comfortable than AC 3 Tier (3A) class.
8.AC
Chair Car (CC):-
· This class has chair like arrangement which is provide by the Indian Railways.
· It has only seating type arrangements like 3*2 seats as per row.
· Each seat is commited for one passengers.
· It is fully AC Class like First AC (1A), AC 2-Tier (2A), AC 3-Tier (3A) & Executive class (EC).
· These type of train class is applicable only for short distance journey.
· These type of class are found in Shatabdi Express, Duronto Express & some in Jan –Shatabdi Express .
· A small table is attached to the backside of each seat for the keeping food or other accessories for himself.
· Its fare is higher than sleeper class but lower than the AC 3 –Tier (3A).
9.Sleeper
Class (SL):-
· These sleeper class are found in every Indian Train except Rajdhani Express, Duronto Express , Tejas Express, Shatabdi Express, Jan –Shatabdi Express etc.
· These are Non- AC Coaches & have 8 (Eight) for each compartment (2 Lower berth, 2 Middle berth, 2 Upper berth & 2 Side berth).
· Four window are found for each compartments which is opened by manually (2 window for each side of compartments).
· Enough Air freshening are found in these types of Train class.
· Due to travelling point of view, It is very cost effective, So it is preferred by Indian Railway passenger for overnight crossing.
· Privacy is not maintained like 3 AC, 2 AC class because a lot of people travelling together inside this Class.
· The total no. of berth is 72 in this sleeper class for travel.
10.Second
Sitting(2S):-
· This type of second sitting class which is normally Non-AC provide by the Indian Railways.
· This class is almost common in all Indian Train except some trains.
· Seating arrangements in 3*3 type. It is very convenient & crowded.
· These class are used for those passengers who travel for such a short distances.
For long Journey it is not comfortable due to heavy crowdedness of the passengers
